  • Ease of Use:Shopify’s interface is designed to be user-friendly, making it accessible for beginners and those without technical expertise.
  • Comprehensive Features:It offers a wide range of tools and features, including abandoned cart recovery, discount codes, and unlimited products, even on the lowest-tier plans.
  • Sales Tools:Shopify provides powerful sales features, such as the ability to track sales, manage inventory, and process payments.
  • Versatile Platform:It’s suitable for a variety of businesses, including those who want to sell online, in a physical location, or through dropshipping/print-on-demand.
  • Scalability:Shopify can handle growing businesses, with options for multiple users and advanced features as needed.
  • App Ecosystem:The Shopify App Store offers a wide range of extensions to enhance functionality and personalize stores.

Cons:

  • Pricing: Shopify’s multi-user access can be costly, and accessing full multi-currency features can be expensive.
  • Transaction Fees: Transaction fees may apply if you don’t use Shopify Payments.
  • Limited Customization: While Shopify offers a range of themes, some users find the customization options limited, especially for advanced users.
  • Limited Free Themes: While there are some free themes available, the selection is limited.
  • No Free Plan: Shopify does not offer a free plan.

Overall:

Shopify is a solid option for building and managing an online store, particularly for businesses that need a comprehensive platform with a range of features and tools. However, potential users should consider the pricing, customization limitations, and transaction fees when making their decision.

Network Solutions Web Hosting

0

Network Solutions is one of the oldest web hosting companies in existence, however, it was acquired by Web.com in 1997. It offers a wide range of web hosting-related services which include domain registration, shared hosting, website design, E-commerce and SEO services, and more.

Features and Ease of Use

Network Solutions will help you get your foot in the door online with your own website with the following features:

  • 99.99% Uptime
  • Free .com domains
  • Multisite hosting with up to unlimited domains
  • Free Xpress SSL certificates
  • Host up to five WordPress websites and unlimited other sites
  • CodeGuard backup solutions
  • Up to unlimited storage space
  • Unlimited data transfer

First of all, Network Solutions can do way more for you than just provide hosting. It also offers website design, SEO, and even E-commerce setup services.  You can have the vendor build and set up a complete website or store for you and then host it on its servers for a completely hands-off approach.

For cloud hosting, you can also ask Network Solutions to install whatever CMS you want, or even use the beginner-friendly website builder available. The company has also partnered up with great providers like CodeGuard and SiteLock that can give a powerful backup, performance optimization, and security tools.

A standout feature of the hosting is that all packages come with unlimited bandwidth. The storage is slightly low with the entry-level plans but gets better with some unlimited options as well. With SSL certificates, domain registration, and even email hosting, it seems to tick all the boxes when it comes to hosting a modern website.

Pricing and Support

You should find it easy to pick a package with Network Solution’s simple range of cloud-based and WordPress hosting plans. While the prices aren’t the cheapest around, it’s still within reach for those looking for low cost, entry-level hosting. Don’t be alarmed if you add a product to your cart, and you see a lot of other charges in your order. This is just because Network Solutions breaks down the pricing of everything that makes up a hosting package.

So, although it technically charges you for an SSL certificate, SiteLock, and possibly some other features, this is included in the pricing you see on the website. You also receive a free domain for the first year of hosting if you choose a term of at least a year. Long-term hosting is also discounted; only slightly for normal shared hosting, but heavily for WordPress hosting.

For what you pay, the pricing is worth it, although I feel it gets more worth it the more expensive the plan is. There’s a 30-day money-back guarantee on all hosting packages as well. If you want a easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder with an all-inclusive hosting plan, you can also go with the website builder packages, which are very affordable.

Support can be a little confusing, as a lot of it seems to be handled by parent company, Web.com. It also provides a huge number of email and phone channels to contact specific departments for specific reasons. The service itself is neither here nor there, the response times are decent but not great (between a few hours to a day), and the staff are helpful and polite, while not going above and beyond. However, as they are developers themselves, they tend to be quite knowledgeable. They just sometimes fall short when it comes to replying to all support queries.

There’s a good knowledge base too, although the topics can be a bit technical and complicated. Fortunately, they also provide video tutorials, which are very handy.

Pros:

  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Free domains and SSL certificates
  • 24/7 live chat and phone support
  • Free SiteLock and CodeGuard with some plans

Cons:

  • No dedicated servers or VPS hosting
  • No live chat support

Web.com Review

0

Web.com is not primarily a web hosting company, which makes it somewhat harder than normal to provide a really accurate review.  They often integrate hosting with some of their other services, so in areas of price and features you may be getting a great deal, even if it doesn’t seem like it at first glance with the price itself.

When looking specifically at their web hosting services, they are well established and are a nice option for most simple sites.  If you are using their small business website creation tools, it really makes sense to consider having them provide the hosting as well.  For someone who is strictly looking for a web hosting company, however, this may not be the best option.

No statistics available, but great datacenter technology

Web.com doesn’t provide uptime statistics or guarantees, which is quite odd for a hosting company (even if it isn’t their main business).  This makes it somewhat hard to determine just how reliable their services are.  That being said, they do have a top of the line data center setup, which is monitored 24/7 for any type of issues.

Some users have reported excessive downtime and hosting errors when working with this company, but overall the user experience seems to be quite positive.

Endless list of additional features

Since web.com is not really focused on web hosting, their list of other services that they offer is seemingly endless.  They are well known for their website design for small businesses, which is really how they made their name. One hosting related feature they do offer is a free year of domain name registration with the purchase of any of their hosting packages.

Along with the hosting, you will also get access to all their basic website creation tools, which are quite impressive.  This is quite a bit more than just a typical free WordPress skin offer so if you are looking to make a really great looking site, this host might be an excellent choice..

They also offer a custom control panel for their users.

24/7/365 Technical Support by Phone

The support being offered by Web.com is one of their best selling points.  They have continuous phone support, which is becoming a lot less common.  You can also use their email based support, which is monitored 24/7 as well.

When you sign up for their services you also get a periodic webmaster newsletter, which actually gives you quite a bit of useful information on how to better run your site.  Overall, their tech support is very respectable.

Nice Pricing for what you get

Again, due to the fact that they aren’t strictly (or even primarily) a web hosting company, it can be somewhat difficult to evaluate their prices for hosting.  This is because you are really buying a full package of their services.  If all you want is the hosting, the price may seem higher than it should, especially since they are only providing you with shared hosting services.

Once you factor in the additional features and services that they are able to provide, it really starts to become more attractive.  For the price, you get a great website design, hosting, support and a variety of other services that will really make it worth your while.

Not bad if you’re using their other services

If you are going to be taking advantage of the services provided by web.com, it really makes sense to use their hosting as well due to the fact that it is typically bundled in.  If all you need is a web host, however, it is likely best to go with someone else. The services they provide are quite nice, but if you’re not using them than they can end up just being confusing and distracting.

Pros:

  • Great additional features
  • Well established company
  • 24/7/365 live technical support

Cons:

  • Not their primary business
  • No AdWords or BingAds credits offered
  • Overpriced when looking strictly at hosting
